The Centre for Analytical Sciences (CAS) provides a focus for research in key areas of spectrochemical analysis. CAS, well resourced in terms of research staff and analytical facilities, seeks to deliver quality outputs particularly in the life sciences, materials and environmental sectors.
Main elements of research strategy are:
- Secure Research Council/EU/Industrial funding
- Strategic alliances with instrument manufacturers
- Interdisciplinary research - University departments/research centres
- Networking with UK/European laboratories
- Conferences, workshops, training courses
The Centre was established in 1995 and partnership agreements with leading instrument manufacturers ensure that researchers access state of the art facilities. The analytical facility is operated under the GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) quality system.
